Oklahoma Parents Center is currently recruiting for the following positions:
Information and Training Specialist
Description and Duties of Job:
Provide in-person and telephone assistance (information and training) to parents regarding special education procedures for pre-school and school age children with disabilities. Develop and present workshops in communities throughout the state for parents of infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers with disabilities and professionals who provide services. Assist in public information and education activities with presentations to various organizations and professional groups. Assist in data collection for evaluation reports and other diverse reporting tasks. Develop written information and materials. Coordinate and organize leadership development program for families.
Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Ability to work well with others, and interest in relating to parents of children with disabilities. Must be a team player and have experience in public speaking, workshop presentations and assisting others on the telephone, strong communication skills and understand the importance of confidentiality. Ability to keep good records and collects data for evaluation purposes. Must be proficient in the use of internet, email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and projectors. Must own a computer, have a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance. Some traveling will be expected.
