But that is not the case for all students. Some students may need more.

Students learn at different rates and retain what they learned at different levels. Extended School Year (ESY) is special education and/or related services that are provided beyond the normal school year.

Summer Activities for Children with Learning Disabilities

When summer vacation arrives, parents are faced with selecting meaningful activities for their child with learning disabilities. Many parents see summer as a time for catching up on academic skills through tutoring, summer school, or one on one instruction with parents.

ABLE Tech’s webinars will define AIM, who can benefit, and how to obtain textbooks and other instructional materials in specialized formats.  We will discuss the use of technology with AIM and other types of support and resources. It is important to make sure that your contact information is up to date with DDSD so you won’t miss your opportunity for services when your turn comes up.

If you name comes up and DDSD tries to contact you and they don’t have the correct contact information, they will move on to the next person and you will have to reapply for the services all over again.

Don’t wait; make sure your contact information is up to date!
