Aida L Romero is a retired school psychologist of 27 years.  During this time she worked with the most challenging population of students diagnosed with emotional disorders.  As an advocate for students and their families, she provided counseling to students teaching them age appropriate coping skills and has advised parents on how to navigate through the special education world.  She conducted psychological evaluations and attended all meetings pertaining to the educational needs of the students. She worked closely with all staff including teachers, administrators and related service providers.   Aida also presented training to new employees and staff related to working with students of diverse needs.

 

Aida is the parent of 3 adult children, one of whom has suffered 2 brain injuries.  Advocating for her son on a daily basis when dealing with service providers and individuals in the medical field has made for a stronger advocate now when working with parents through our parent center.

 

Aida is a bilingual information and training specialist with the Oklahoma Parents Center.
